The main objective of the present work is to investigate the characteristic of transonic viscous flow with standard k-c, RNG and Spalart turbulent model using numerical technique matching and Fluent with quadrilateral type of grid generation in order to match with the boundary layer requirements. The computation is carried at Mach number 0.72. Two-dimensional 2822 airfoil at 2.8 angle of attack was studied. The numerical results show that the present model well predict the shock wave locations, strength and the change in flow properties due to geometry. The results show that the minimum nodal space (1) for the k-epsilon model is 50 and for Spalart model is 30. Also the results were compared with the published data of the same geometry. It is concluded that the present results are in good agreement with the published data. The main emphasis is the comparison of numerical methods concerning the shock position and strength as well as the C, skin friction Distribution and point of separation.
